The Girls Empowered Through MUSIC! (GETMusic!) Festival is scheduled for Saturday, January 20, 2018, from 8:30 am – noon am at the Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill, 8855 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19118. The Festival Conductors are Melissa Keylock, Dr. Elizabeth Parker, Lauren Canna and Marianne Gruzwalski of Pennsylvania Girlchoir and Garden State Girlchoir.
While you, the Music Educator, are not responsible for registering individual singers, you must register and provide the names and grades of the girls you are recommending for participation in the Festival. To do so, click here.
There is no need to prepare girls in advance for the festival. All music will be supplied, and learned, at the festival. If you have questions about the repertoire, please contact the festival coordinator.
This is an event for girls who love to sing AND who can match pitch consistently. You may send up to five girls (4th thru 6th graders) to participate in the Festival. The Festival Choir is limited to the first 100 girls who register by January 13, 2018. If there are still spots available after that date, additional registrations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. If you would like to send additional girls, please contact us so we may place them on the waiting list.
The participation cost for each singer is $40, which includes music, meals, snacks, and a festival t-shirt. Each parent is responsible for registering their singer online, which involves completing the Singer Information Form and paying the registration. (A credit card will be necessary to complete the registration process.) To register, parents should go here.
If your school is covering the registration fees for your singers, or if you wish to collect the fees from your singer(s) and write a check from your school, the check should be made payable to “Pennsylvania Girlchoir” and sent to our office at 35 West Chelten Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19144.

If you, the Music Educator, wish to provide singer information yourself rather than have the parents do so, simply print out the Singer Information Form, and have each singer’s parent fill it out and return it to you. You will then have to go online and fill out the electronic form for each Festival Singer.
Music Educators are not required to attend the festival in order to send students. Even if you can’t attend the Festival, we would love to see you at the 11:00 am concert. All music educators who have girls participating in the Festival will receive two complimentary tickets.
